An experimental production from the famed Phoenix Mountain region of Guangdong Province, this black tea is a standout in flavor and texture.
Made with leaf harvested from our Phoenix Honey Mi Lan Xiang producer’s trees, they have been fully oxidized and rolled into long twists. A guest teamaker from Fujian, who specializes in jin jun mei black tea, directed production and brought out intriguing dried fruit and malty notes that evolve as this tea steeps. From notes of raisins and figs, to cooked pastries, the mouth-coating flavors even nod to heavily roasted oolongs (think Wuyis) as the temperature cools. Sweet, full-bodied and balanced, this black tea is a delight in the cup.
