Eagerly anticipated each spring, Darjeeling First Flush represents the initial harvest from plants that have lain dormant all winter. The mountainous region, at the foothills of the Himalayans, has long been celebrated for its dramatic landscape and distinctive teas. For this style, the leaves are carefully hand-picked and undergo a unique hard withering process, which produces the characteristic fresh, nuanced fragrances and a bright flavor.

Sweet notes of almond and asparagus bloom in this lot (DJ 13) from the Castleton Estate, harmonizing with a faint aroma of milk chocolate. The china bush cultivars used for production yield a full-bodied cup, well balanced between nutty and vegetal, with a crisp finish.

Country: India
