An exclusive from In Pursuit of Tea! This green tea, grown in Samcholing, Bhutan, has never before been exported. The tea fields are located at the summer palace of the second king, and were originally planted in the 1950s. A collective of 26 women now operate the 43-acre farm, hand-picking, pan-firing and rolling the small leaves into a simple twisted shape. The bright, sweet flavor is reminiscent of a Chinese green tea, with vegetal notes of asparagus, fruit and citrus, and a lightly spicy aroma that hints of coriander and white pepper.

Unlike many green teas, the leaves can stand up to multiple steepings—try four or five—using water around 180°F. Enjoy the taste of a new tradition!

Country: Bhutan

I hadn’t bought this tea in a couple of years. I’m glad I did. It’s beautiful both hot or iced. Has become my favorite go to.

Another winner!!

This is such a smooth cup of green tea. I brewed this with the water temperature at 180°, for exactly 3 minutes, and just a smidge over 1 teaspoon of leaves for a 10 ounce cup.....and perfection!! This is by far one of the best cups of green tea that I have ever experienced. The subsequent seepings were just as enjoyable. I will definitely buy this tea again.

My new favorite green tea

I have always been a fan of Japanese green tea for it's gentle sweetness that somehow works with the bitter notes. Comparatively, this is a Chinese green tea that was very surprising to my taste buds. It's gentle, soft and sweet--not bitter at all. I drink it all the time. It's delicious hot or iced.

Delicious and smooth

It's been a while since I've had real green tea; too often resorting to tea bags. They just don't compare to the real thing. This, right here, is the real thing. It's incredibly cathartic and delicious. I used a simple OXO metal strainer, 5g at 3mins with 175F water.

Great quality Tea. Not bitter at all. I had always been buying my tea at the grocery store for the most part and never really enjoyed drinking green Tea but just did because I knew it was good for you. Now I do enjoy drinking this tea and I know it’s of much higher quality/better health benefits.
