Ceylon Orange Pekoe, New Vithanakande Estate

$32.50
| /

Hailing from Sri Lanka, Ceylon makes a classic British-style cup and is often used in breakfast tea blends. This unblended single lot, grown in the low-elevation Ratnapura district, is a superior grade (FBOPFEXSP) from New Vithanakande Estate. For this type, only the top quality leaves are hand-picked and carefully processed.

Note the sheen on the deep-brown, delicately twisted leaves, interspersed with abundant silver and golden buds. These buds contribute exquisite flavor to a brisk and honeyed infusion, with hints of baked goods, citron, and sundried tomato, and a pleasant, lingering astringency. Although full-bodied enough to blend well with milk or a sweetener, it’s a delightful black tea to enjoy on its own.

Country: Sri Lanka
Region: Ratnapura

Flavorful Ceylon

This is my first time ordering Ceylon tea here.
I thought it was a little pricey but turns out it was worth it.
It can be brisk if left too long steeping but a flavorful morning tea.
Interesting to learn the origin name: "Orange Pekoe" from "A Little Tea Book" you can purchase here. Worth the read.

The pleasure of tea gratified 100%

This tea was delicious and even before take a sip deliriously aromatic. I've tried so many Ceylon teas when I can't get hold of my staple version, and this tea is one I'll order again.

Ceylon tea is my favorite tea

I really enjoy this tea as my morning tea. I loved your previous ceylon tea from the thotalagala estate more though.

Such a beauty

This a gorgeous tea, right down to the leaf. The color of the brew is the deepest orange of a sunset. I originally bough the tea to make iced tea in the summer. Full bodied and lots of flavorful notes. Then it was cool and I decided to make it hot with oatmilk and honey one afternoon and now it has become a ritual I look forward to everyday. It is such a good tea that if I am out running errands and think about picking up a coffee, I generally talk myself out of it with "I'll just wait until I get home and have a delicious cup of tea".

Afternoon Tea Time Delight

After living in various countries in Asia, I was devastated to return to the USA and not find the quality, rich delicious teas available in every supermarket there. Luckily I discovered In Pursuit of Tea (so aptly named) and this rich, red, clean crisp finish Ceylon tea. It is absolutely delicious!
