The best way to ensure a smooth, creamy bowl of matcha or Hojicha Powder is to sift before preparation: even though the powder is made of fine particles, static can cause them to clump together. This simple, stainless steel tool is the solution. Rest it on the rim of your tea bowl, and use a chashaku to add matcha, running the back of the scoop against the mesh to push all the powder through. Remove the strainer, add hot water to the bowl and whisk away.
