Blessed Forever Banzhai Bingcha

Produced in 2009 and aged in Hong Kong until 2025, this green (sheng) pu-erh hails from the Ban Shan region of southwest Yunnan Province. The leaf is from large, old trees grown at a high altitude, and after harvest and a sun-drying process they are compressed into the traditional bingcha shape. Commemorating the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China, the design on the wrapping paper hails from a Han Dynasty roof tile.

Superior-quality material was used for this pressing—note the abundant golden buds spiraling throughout the cake, indicative of careful hand-picking. Initial steeps release aromas of salty air and seaweed, reminiscent of a day at the beach; refreshing, bitter tones of wood and tart fruit round out the cup. Let the luminous copper liquor transport and soothe, as the leaves gently reveal their maturity throughout the drinking session.

Note: total weights of compressed pu-erhs can naturally vary slightly over time, due to shifts in climate and storage.
