Nantou Four Seasons

This oolong is made from a cultivar that can be harvested year-round—si ji chun, which means four seasons like spring. It’s grown in mountainous Nantou County, Taiwan, in the central part of the island. The hand-picked leaves are oxidized about 15% and rolled into ball shapes in small batches; this process, plus a final light baking, yields an ambrosial fragrance, nectar-sweet and floral. As the leaves unfurl through multiple infusions, light flavors of pine, white pepper and a fresh green note linger.

A well-balanced, popular tea, it's a wonderful introduction to the oolong category. For a more roasted flavor from the same region, try our Nantou Amber.

Also available in teabags.

Super accessible

Nectar tasting note is right on point. Strongly recommend doing 30 second or less infusions at about 195.

A Good Starter Oolong

Nantou Four Seasons is a good variety of tea to try if you've never had an oolong tea before. It has the depth of darker oolongs but is not overwhelming. There are green and floral notes with characteristic oolong toastiness. I find that it is easier for me to prepare this by the mug rather than in a pot, but discovering one's own steeping preferences is what loose-leaf tea is all about!

Excellent value!

This tea has a beautiful, delicate, flora flavor reminiscent of more expensive oolongs. I will definitely purchase this again!
