Welcome the newest herbal in our collection, an unusual take on caffeine-free infusions. Organically grown in Hokkaido from a sweeter, higher-nutrient variety of buckwheat called dattan, this brew is traditional throughout Japan and can be enjoyed hot or iced.
The aroma is spectacular—think honey-nut Cheerios, candied chestnuts, graham crackers—and leads to a full yet round and balanced flavor. With a rich, mouth-coating texture and bright lemon-yellow liquor, it’s a refreshing change from all those herbals you know and love. Aside from drinking it as an infusion, try sprinkling some of the dry grains over ice cream or other desserts to add crunch, or eating the softened grains with a pinch of salt after steeping!
