Calling all oolong lovers: this is one you haven’t tasted before. Produced in the renowned Wu Dong Mountain area of Guangdong Province, in southern China, the leaf material is phoenix, but the production takes inspiration from another famous style.

After handpicking, bai ye ("white leaf") cultivar leaves were allowed to oxidize in a manner typical of Tieguanyin rather than dancong, then lightly roasted to enhance their fragrance—all directed by a guest tea maker from Fujian Province who specializes in Tieguanyin. An initial floral aroma, reminiscent of phoenix oolong, arises when the tea is brewed, gently leading to a balanced woodiness and sweetness in the cup. Notes of peach, melon and parsnip linger through the pleasant aftertaste. The result is a truly unique tea: not tieguanyin, not traditional phoenix oolong, but an enticing mix of both.

Country: China
Region: Guangdong Province
Tasting Notes: floral, grilled peach, woody
Year of Production: Spring 2020

I don’t have a ton of palatial nuance for tea but this is a really interesting and wonderful tea with loads of depth and combinations of flavors

Definite notes of stonefruit as well as a pleasant dry finish. This tea's aroma is amazing.
