Assam, Kachibari Village

As featured on NPR's Morning Edition!

This tea is from the Kachibari Village in northeastern India's Assam, one of the largest black tea production regions in the world. An unusual find from the area, this Assam highlights the passion of two producers, including Tenzing, on his small organic farm: He has taken a lead in making tea without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers. The hand-picked leaves have a sweet, full aroma reminiscent of molasses and gingerbread dough; the flavor is bold but balanced, with satisfying notes of malt, black currant and dried fruit.

Assam is one of the teas traditionally used in breakfast blends; try this version to experience a nuanced taste of this lush region.

Robust choice!

This tea is a great choice for cold brew! It becomes deep red as it steeps through the day, heightening anticipation until evening when it is ready!

Delicious

Really lovely, smoky flavor. Tastes great by itself, or with a little sweetner and milk. I do maple syrup and oat milk. It really doesn't need it.

My go-to

I have been drinking this tea for years and keep coming back to it. Smooth and flavorful. I always steep it twice with good results. In Pursuit of Tea has always been great!

I thought I had a favorite black tea until . . .

I thought I was all set with a very nice, very good quality loose leaf tea. Then I had this Assam. It's so delicious - smooth but rich. I love it with a little oat milk. Now I can't go back...

Husband loves

So, living in the South iced tea is a staple in everyday living. It has taken considerable effort on my part to encourage healthier eating and drinking habits for my husband....and the biggest challenge was his addiction to sugary sweet tea. The supermarket options of classic black tea scream out for extra sugar just to mask it's bitter taste, and the sugar-free option could not even be considered. So the hunt was on to find my husband his new daily liquid companion. What drew me to this tea....is it has a bold but smooth taste which doesn't turn bitter as the day wears on. The organic practices of its producer is also quite intriguing. My husband loves this tea so much that he shares it with coworkers and friends. He has lost 25 pounds by just changing this one habit and he will not ever go back.

Hi Jenny,
