Ceylon Orange Pekoe, New Vithanakande Estate
Hailing from Sri Lanka, Ceylon makes a classic British-style cup and is often used in breakfast tea blends. This unblended single lot, grown in the low-elevation Ratnapura district, is a superior grade (FBOPFEXSP) from New Vithanakande Estate. For this type, only the top quality leaves are hand-picked and carefully processed.
Note the sheen on the deep-brown, delicately twisted leaves, interspersed with abundant silver and golden buds. These buds contribute exquisite flavor to a brisk and honeyed infusion, with hints of baked goods, citron, and sundried tomato, and a pleasant, lingering astringency. Although full-bodied enough to blend well with milk or a sweetener, it’s a delightful black tea to enjoy on its own.

This is one of my favorite breakfast teas.
The order came as expected and the Tea is sublime. The Ceylon orange pekoe was a revelation. Makes wonderful iced tea as well. Actually best iced tea ever.
I've tried ceylon teas from so many other companies, but never was a huge fan unless it was blended in an Irish Breakfast tea. But after tasting this at one of In Pursuit of Tea's pop ups, I fell in love. Just a splash of almond milk and it's the perfect start to my day or afternoon pick me up.
We love this tea. Wonderful flavor and with a well fresh and hot as well as iced
