Our tippiest teas, all packed with gold and silver buds: Thanks to careful harvesting by hand, these high-grade selections feature generous proportions of unopened buds from the very top of the tea plant's shoots. Tender tea buds have the highest concentration of the plant's essential oils, which contribute unique expressive flavors and a luxurious sweetness.

Look closely, and depending on the processing technique used, you can see fuzzy hairs called trichomes on the surface of the buds. Though their role on the plant is to protect the new growth from excessive UV radiation and moisture loss as well as predatory insects, trichomes also add a velvety texture to the brewed cup.
