I really appreciate the fact that In Pursuit of Tea had this hard-to-find item in stock, and was able to ship it so quickly.
Years ago, Ito En had a small tea shop on Madison Avenue. They were so meticulous that they kept their green teas under refrigeration. I noticed that despite selling many beautiful Japanese tea pots, they were using the Mono Filio to brew the tea served in the shop. I asked about that, and was told “This is a laboratory-grade teapot, that you use when you want to know what the tea itself tastes like, with no influence from the pot”.
