Shu Pu-erh Looseleaf Sample

I have really gotten into pu-erh teas the last few years and this one was very good. The first brewing was very rich and the malty sweetness was pleasant. I held up well to several brewings.

This is my first time trying pu-erh tea leaves. The flavor is so smooth and peasant! I can have a couple cups in a sitting and not feel bloated. These leaves are also nice for resteeping a couple times.

We all have taste expectations for the various tea varieties. One wants a certain assertive pungency in pu-erh since the expectation is that you will be changes in flavors as you go through multiple steepings. I didn't sense that quality in this loose leaf compared to compressed discs served in Taiwan. A friends who owns a wine & liquor store advises shoppers looking at expensive whiskeys "Don't buy it if you don't know what it should taste like." Buy this to learn about pu-erhs.
